Tell us about your journey into your role at Seven West Media?
I started with the business in 2018 as a member of the advertising features team where I learned all about print and digital media working with many different parts of the business across multiple campaigns. I then stepped into the features manager role and shortly after the advertising contact centre manager in August 2022 entering the world of classifieds advertising where I’m still learning every day and get to work with wonderful people.
What does a typical day look like in your role?
On any given day I could be seeing a client, doing sales training to jumping on the phone myself to make calls and help the team. One of our non-negotiables is the 3pm daily quiz from the Coffee Break section in The West Australian, 10 daily questions that helps refresh for the afternoon rush and gets the team together.
Who or what inspires you the most?
My team inspire me every day, whether it’s our incoming call agents helping a customer say one of their final goodbyes with an obituary notice to our outbound advertising sales team who help small businesses grow and our administrators who play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality customer service is being met with speed and accuracy. I’ve never seen anyone touch type as fast as they do.
What is one of the most rewarding projects you’ve worked on at Seven West Media?
There’s been so many projects that I’ve been proud of, especially during my time in features. Most recently however, it’s been our call training sessions, where leaders and agents meet once a week to review and discuss recorded outbound calls. This takes an incredible level or resilience, humility and trust, so it’s really rewarding being part of a team that is both nurturing and encouraging in areas of improvement to ensure that we are providing customers the best quality service.
