Unbelievable footy finals delivers for Seven in week one

Fans witnessed an incredible opening weekend of AFL finals action on the Seven Network, with four epic games attracting huge audiences.

The weekend kicked off Thursday night, as 131,600 WA viewers watched Brisbane Lions break a finals hoodoo against the Richmond Tigers by two points in a classic Gabba shoot-out.

On Friday night, 166,600 WA viewers watched the Sydney Swans win their way through to a home preliminary final after defeating last year’s premiers, Melbourne Demons.

Geelong is into a preliminary final as 158,600 WA viewers tuned in Saturday afternoon to see the Cat’s heart-stopping win against Collingwood.

On Saturday night, a massive 279,800 WA viewers watched the Fremantle Dockers pull off a stunning elimination final comeback to keep the Flagmantle dream alive.

In an unmissable week two of the AFL Finals series, the Seven Network will take fans live to the MCG this Friday as Melbourne Demons fight to keep their premiership defence alive against Brisbane Lions.

Then on Saturday, West Australians will be locked on Seven as Fremantle and Collingwood battle it out to earn a place in a preliminary final.

All the AFL finals blockbusters, Brownlow Medal and the game that engages the nation, the AFL Grand Final, are live and exclusive to Seven.
